Machine Readable Passport (MRP) Guidelines

   Previously Rejected Online Passport Applications

If your online MRP application was rejected (for biometrics or any other reason) and you now wish to apply at Pakistan Consulate Bradford, you must:

  • Book an online appointment at the Consulate.
  • Bring a printout of the online system letter cancelling your online application.
  • Bring the fee‑utilization letter from the online system (printed copy).
  • Pay any difference in fee. The application will be processed only after this.
MRP application requirements vary for adults and children. Please review the relevant section carefully before visiting the Consulate. All listed documents are mandatory, and incomplete applications will not be processed.

Document Requirements

General Instructions (For All Applicants)
  • No application form or photographs are required. Biometrics and photos are taken at the Consulate.

  • Appointment details must match with applicant's documents.
  • If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew it.
  • For any changes (name, marital status etc.), update your NADRA Card first.
  • Proof of UK address is required.
  • Do NOT book travel until you receive your new passport.
  • All fees are non-refundable.

Special Assistance (♿)

Applicants with physical challenges (disabilities) or special needs are advised to email passport.bradford@gmail.com before booking an appointment. The Consulate will arrange a specific date and time and can provide a wheelchair if required.
Passport Application Process
  1. Document checking at reception counter.
  2. Receive token number and bank voucher.
  3. Pay fee at UBL digital machine at consular hall (Cash/Card).
  4. Biometric capture (Photo & Fingerprints).
  5. Collection date will be provided.
  6. Data entry according to NADRA records
  7. Interview with MRP officer → collection date given

Passport Collection Time: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Please note that passports are not delivered to applicants address. Passports must be collected in person upon presentation of the original receipt. Collection without the original receipt will not be permitted.

⚠ Applicants are strongly advised not to make any travel arrangements until they have received their new passport. Consulate will not be responsible for any travel bookings made prior to the issuance of the new passport.
A.    Adults (18+) – Renewal of Pakistan Passport
  • Original valid NADRA card (NICOP) and one photocopy. If expired or misplaced, renew the NADRA card before applying.
  • Original latest Pakistani passport and one photocopy of the first two pages.
  • Manual (handwritten) lost passports: MRP will only be issued after verification of the lost passport from the issuing authority in Pakistan or abroad.
  • If the applicant does not hold or is not entitled to a British passport: valid UK visa / UK e‑visa printout with status and expiry date.
  • Dual nationals: British or other nationality passport plus photocopy.
  • For any change in passport particulars, first revise your NADRA card and then apply with the updated card.
  • Married female applicants: original CNIC / NICOP / Smart ID card showing husband’s name, or first modify NADRA record to reflect marital status.
  • Pakistani government employees: original NOC issued within the last 90 days by the relevant Ministry / Division / Department (subject to verification).
  • First‑time applicants over 18 who never held a Pakistan passport (born in the UK or Pakistan) will have their application referred for national status verification to the security agency in Pakistan. The passport will be issued after verification.

Additional documents may be requested on a case‑by‑case basis.

⚠    In case of Pakistani government employees: original NOC issued within the last 90 days by the relevant Ministry / Division / Department (subject to verification).
B.    First Pakistan Passport – Over 18, Born in the UK (Never Held Pakistan Passport)
  • Original and photocopy of full UK birth certificate showing both parents’ names.
  • Original and photocopy of valid NADRA card (NICOP).
  • Original and photocopy of applicant’s valid British passport.
  • Original and photocopy of both parents’ Pakistani passports and ID cards.
  • Family Registration Certificate (FRC) from NADRA. A separate appointment may be required for FRC.
  • Applications are referred for national status verification to the security agency in Pakistan. Passports are issued after verification.

Additional documents may be requested on a case‑by‑case basis.

C.   Children Under 18 – Born in the UK (Renewal / First Time)
  • Original and photocopy of full UK birth certificate showing both parents’ names.
  • Original and photocopy of latest Pakistani passport (if already issued).
  • Original and photocopy of the child’s valid NADRA card.
  • Original and photocopy of the child’s British passport.
  • Original and photocopy of valid passports and ID cards of both parents, and UK visa / UK e‑visa printout with status and expiry date.
  • Minors must be accompanied by both parents.
  • Bring all original valid documents plus photocopies, in separate sets, for each child.
  • If parents are separated or divorced, the custodial parent must provide court orders confirming legal custody; if one parent is away, written consent may be required.
  • At least one parent must be present when applying, along with court orders and/or any mutually agreed custody/permission document, duly attested by the relevant authorities.
  • NADRA Card or CRC (Under 10)
  • Valid NICOP(above 10 year old)

Additional documents may be requested on a case‑by‑case basis.

D.   Children Under 18 – Born in Pakistan (Renewal / First Time)
  • Original and photocopy of latest Pakistani passport (first two pages). If the passport is lost, see Category E in addition to these requirements.
  • Original valid NADRA card and one photocopy. Minors under 10 born in Pakistan may use CRC / Form‑B (original and photocopy).
  • Original and photocopy of valid passports and ID cards of both parents.
  • Original and photocopy of the child’s British passport (if held).
  • If the child does not hold or is not entitled to a British passport, valid UK visa / UK e‑visa printout with status and expiry date.
  • Minors must be accompanied by both parents.
  • If parents are separated or divorced, the custodial parent must provide court orders confirming legal custody; if one parent is away, written consent may be required.
  • Bring all original valid documents plus photocopies, in separate sets, for each child.
  • At least one parent must be present when applying, along with court orders and/or any mutually agreed custody/permission document, duly attested by the relevant authorities.

E.    Loss of Pakistan Passport
  • Photocopy of the lost Pakistan passport (Mandatory).
  • For manual (handwritten) lost passports, a new MRP will only be issued after verification from the issuing authority in Pakistan or abroad.
  • Original valid NADRA card (NICOP) and one photocopy. Renew if expired or misplaced before applying.
  • Valid UK visa / UK e‑visa printout with status and expiry date.
  • In case fo Dual nationals: British or other nationality passport plus photocopy.
  • Police report (which can be obtined from: www.reportmyloss.com/uk

  • Passports with 72 and 100 pages are available for frequent travellers (additional charges apply). Please inform the MRP In‑Charge if you require one of these passports.
