Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Concludes Official Visit to Iran
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF concluded a short but highly productive official visit to Iran. During the visit, the Field Marshal held high-level engagements with Iranian leadership as part of ongoing mediation efforts aimed at promoting de-escalation and constructive engagement, amidst the regional tensions that have simmered after the ceasefire on 8th April, 2026.
The Field Marshal called on H.E. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, H.E. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, H.E. Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran and H.E. Eskandar Momeni, Interior Minister of Iran. The discussions remained focused upon expediting the consultative process underway to support peace and stability in the region and to reach to a conclusive agreement.
The engagements were held in a positive and constructive environment and contributed meaningfully towards the mediation process. The intensive negotiations over the last twenty four hours have resulted in encouraging progress towards a final understanding.
The Iranian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s sincere and constructive role in facilitating dialogue and promoting peaceful settlement of regional issues.
Upon arrival, the Field Marshal was received by H.E. Eskandar Momeni, Interior Minister of Iran, along with senior civil and military officials.

A dignified and prestigious ceremony was organized at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Bradford to confer the Civil Award “Tamgha-i-Imtiaz” upon Mr. Mehmood Sultan in recognition of his outstanding services to Pakistan and remarkable contributions to film, television, and the promotion of Pakistani culture abroad.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Pakistani diaspora, community leaders, media representatives, and distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate the achievements and lifelong dedication of Mr. Mehmood Sultan.
1st Anniversary of Marka-e-Haq Commemorated at the Consulate of Pakistan, Bradford
Consulate of Pakistan, Bradford commemorated the 1st Anniversary of Marka-e-Haq at the Consulate premises on Sunday, 10th May 2026 at 11:30 AM.
The event was attended by members of the Pakistani diaspora, community leaders, businessmen, media representatives, and distinguished guests from across the region.
In his remarks, Consul General of Pakistan in Bradford paid rich tribute to the brave Armed Forces of Pakistan for their unwavering courage, professionalism, and steadfast commitment in safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. He stated that Marka-e-Haq stands as a symbol of national unity, resilience, and the unflinching determination of the Pakistani nation in the face of aggression.
Consul General also highlighted that during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, Pakistan’s Armed Forces demonstrated exceptional operational excellence, strategic preparedness, and exemplary coordination, which earned admiration both nationally and internationally. He further appreciated the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom for standing shoulder to shoulder with their homeland and effectively presenting Pakistan’s principled stance with dignity and conviction.
Speakers at the event emphasized that the entire Pakistani nation remained united during Marka-e-Haq and reaffirmed their continued support for the Armed Forces of Pakistan. Community representatives paid glowing tributes to the sacrifices rendered by the Armed Forces and appreciated the leadership and resilience shown by the people of Pakistan during challenging times.
At the end, participants reiterated their resolve to continue promoting unity, patriotism, and solidarity for a stronger, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan.
The event was concluded with prayers for the continued progress, stability, and security of Pakistan.
